Israel claimed that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, Lebanon, on Friday evening. The country claimed Nasrallah was killed along with two other Hezbollah commanders.
On Friday, Israel attacked various parts of Lebanon, including the densely populated city of Dahiyeh, south of the capital Beirut, throughout the night. The occupying country attacked Hezbollah's headquarters and top commanders in particular.
In a statement later on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the IDF strike killed Hezbollah leader and one of its founders Hassan Nasrallah, the organization's southern front commander Ali Karki, along with additional Hezbollah commanders.

The IDF said Israeli air force jets targeted the Hezbollah group's central headquarters, which was underground under a residential building in Beirut's Dahiyeh neighborhood. The attack was carried out while Hezbollah's senior chain of command was operating from headquarters and conducting operations against Israeli citizens.
