Sports Desk: Bangladeshi batsman Mominul scored a century against the current.

While the rest of the batsmen came and went, Mominul Haque actually challenged the Indian bowlers by scoring a century with one end in hand. The left-handed batsman scored the 13th century of his Test career by sweeping Ravichandran Ashwin for a boundary.

Mominul scored a century outside the country only for the second time in his Test career. He did the first in 2021 in Pallekele, Sri Lanka. The second came on Indian soil.

The second and third day's play was abandoned due to rain. Bangladesh scored 107 for 3 after batting 35 overs on the first day. Mominul was unbeaten on 40 runs, Mushfiqur on 6 runs.

Mushfiqur (11) was bowled while leaving Bumrah's ball in the sixth over of the fourth day on Monday. He got off before Shakib. Liton (13) returned with a catch in the hands of Rohit at mid-off while hitting Siraj.

This time Shakib was shown the way to Mashrafe by sports advisor Asif Mahmud

Shakib returned with only 9 runs. His timing is not going well at all. On this day, Shakib returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs off Ashwin.

At lunch, Bangladesh were 205 for 6. Mominul and Miraj scored fifty runs. Mominul is fighting alone against the Indian bowlers but Bangladesh are losing one wicket after another from the other end. Finally Bangladesh's first innings ended with 233 runs. Mominul remained unbeaten on 107 runs. The rest could not stand by Mominul. Bangladesh had to pay for it.
