Entertainment desk: Actress Dilruba Hossain Doyal said that she did not get paid even after three years of the release of the movie. Producer N Rashed Chowdhury produced the government grant film 'Chandravati Katha'. The movie got a grant in 2013-14 financial year but released in 2021.

However, actress Doyle said that she has not yet received the remuneration for that movie. He made such a complaint against the producer in a recent TV program.

Doyal said, 'I acted in the government grant Chandravati Katha movie. Bengal Creations was later attached to co-produce the film. Its digital rights have been bought by Channel I. It took almost five years to release the movie. But three years after the release of the film, why the crew, art people, costume people, production people do not get money? The director did not have a problem. This year he got a grant for one more movie.'

When asked why he didn't file a complaint so far, Doel said, 'These things could not be said at that time. And who would I say? Actors Guild? I am not a member of any organization.'

He further said about the Actors' Association, 'What is the Actors' Association actually doing? How many artists have come forward with personal problems? When an artist dies, they may be paying tribute. But how often does an artist die while living—have we ever thought?

Doel said, 'The same is the case with the Film Artists Association. When I went to shoot for Apu Biswas' Lal Saree, I was told to be a member of Shilpi Samiti. Why should I be a member of that organization? Did someone from FDC call us to work? They have already assumed that we are from Mediapara, they are from Cinemapara. So why be a member of their organization? To liaise?'

Due to syndicates, Doyle feels that many artists are not getting proper work and are not getting paid. He also accused BTV of arbitrariness. Even after applying six times, he could not become a listed artist of BTV, he said.

Doyle said, 'BTV wanted to list once, that too as a third grade artiste. I said, you take my audition. Then decided which category I belong to. But they said, this is the way to come here. So talent has no price?'

After the fall of the Awami League government, the demand for reforms in green spaces has been raised. In continuation of this, Doyle wants to reform the showbiz arena as well. He feels that it is necessary to take initiatives now to remove various types of irregularities including discrimination between artists, not getting proper remuneration on time.

Meanwhile, when I tried to contact the producer N Rashed Chowdhury to inquire about Doyle's complaint about non-payment, his mobile phone was switched off
