Jumbangla Desk: Anis Mia and his accomplice have been arrested by the police in the viral video of walking with a chapati in one hand and another person's cut hand in the other in Daudkandi, Comilla. They were arrested from the bus stand of Brahmanbaria upazila Sadar of the district last Saturday night.

Deceased Mohiuddin's house is in Olanpara area of ​​Gauripur union of Daudkandi upazila. Anis Mia was arrested by a team from Gauripur Police Investigation Center of Daudkandi Model Police Station. Police informed reporters about the arrest on Sunday.

Anis Mia was on the run since the murder of Mohiuddin on September 7. Deputy Inspector (SI) of Gouripur Police Investigation Center Abdul Quddus said that Anis and his associate Shakil Mia were arrested through technology on Saturday night.

SI Abdul Quddus said that on September 7, the attackers hacked Mohiuddin to death and severed his right elbow on the road near Olanpara Mosque in Gouripur Union. An 11-second video of Anis walking with the severed arm went viral on social media. In the video, Anis is walking around with chapati in one hand and Mohiuddin's severed hand in the other.

Mohiuddin's mother Monowara Begum Anis was the main accused and filed a murder case in the name of 10 people at Daudkandi Model Police Station on September 8. The house of main accused Anis (26) is in Shalikha village of Chandina upazila of the district. Accused number two Shakil Miya (28) of Gouripur village of Daudkandi upazila was arrested last Saturday night. Another accused in the case, Babu (20) of Gouripur village, was arrested two days after the murder, police said.

SI Abdul Quddus said, 'Anis Mia admitted the responsibility of murder in the statement under section 164 yesterday.'
