International Desk: In the changing political context of Bangladesh, India has decided not to issue any other visa to Bangladeshi citizens except for emergency and medical needs. The country will reconsider the matter if the situation is normal.

India Visa

India's Ministry of External Affairs announced the decision on Sunday.

Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in the ministry said, 'Currently, visas are being given to Bangladeshis for medical and urgent needs. When the situation in Bangladesh becomes normal, the work will start in full and visa issuance will also be normal.'

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, India stopped visa services for Bangladeshi citizens. Due to the turbulent situation in Bangladesh, many employees of the Indian embassy were taken back to India. Later, when the situation normalized somewhat, Indian visas resumed operations at the centers. However, many people protested at the Indian visa issuing center in Dhaka after waiting for days without getting a visa. Due to this, the work is disrupted again. In this context, India has clarified its position regarding the visa application of Bangladeshi citizens.

Meanwhile, after providing extra security at Indian embassies and visa centers, services at visa application centers have resumed on an emergency basis from September.

Due to lack of money, Hasan, who lost his leg in Gulli, is not being treated

The Indian Visa Application Center said that visa centers are initially opening in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna. But not everyone will get visa now. Only those who come for treatment, will be given priority on urgent basis. In a recent notification, India said that the situation in Bangladesh is still not normal. If the law and order situation normalizes, the issue of issuing visas will also be the same as before. For the time being, visas will be issued to Bangladeshis subject to conditions.
