Sports Desk: Shakib Al Hasan announced his retirement the day before the start of the Kanpur Test. However, he wants to play the last international Test at home. But it is uncertain whether Shakib will play the South Africa series till the end due to security issues.

Recently, Shakib entered politics. He was also elected as a member of parliament for Bangladesh Awami League in the last elections. Shakib's position in the eyes of the general public has changed since then. After the change of power on August 5, many of the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League are in hiding, many have been arrested.

In the meantime, a case has been registered in the name of Shakib in connection with the murder of Garment worker Rubel in Adabar of the capital. According to that source, Shakib said that he will play his last Test in Mirpur in October if he gets adequate security assurance in the country. Not only that, he also asked for the assurance of leaving the country safely after finishing the game.

In this regard, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Farooq Ahmed has pushed the whole matter to the government's court. He said the board will not look into Shakib's personal security.

Asif Mahmood, Youth and Sports Advisor of the Interim Government spoke about Shakib's security issue. On Sunday (September 29), at the Grameenphone dividend check distribution ceremony, the Sports Advisor said, 'Shaqib Al Hasan has two identities, this should be remembered. He is a player. As such, he will be given as much security as he needs. On the other hand, he is also a politician. He did politics for Awami League. People have mixed reactions to these two identities. Now as a player we will give as much security as a player needs.'

At that time, the advisor said that if there is anger among the people due to political identity, then he has to correct it himself. Shakib has to clarify his political position.

Asif Mahmud added, 'The state is obliged to provide security to every citizen and we will definitely do that. We have already said about the murder case against him, and the law ministry has also said that if there is no involvement in the investigation, the name will be dropped initially.

Adviser Asif said, if there is anger among the people because of his (Saqib Al Hasan) political identity, then…. Remember, I have five police constables and a gunman for my security. If I have the anger of 16 crore people of the country, then what security will they give me?

He said, 'If the people have any anger, then I have to reduce it with my words. I think he needs to clear his own space, talk about his political position from a political point of view. Mashrafe bin Murtaza has already spoken.

The sports advisor brought up former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Saying, 'Sheikh Hasina could not be given security, she had to flee the country. I think it is necessary to clarify the political issue in that place. It is our responsibility to ensure the safety of every player and we fulfill that responsibility.'
