Jumbangla Desk: After the armed forces, the government has given the special magisterial power of law and order to the officers of the air force and navy. They will get this power till next 60 days.

Today Monday (30) in a notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Jeti Pru of Public Administration Ministry's Dispatch-2 Branch, they got this power all over the country, including the capital Dhaka, like the officers of the armed forces (captains of the army and above).

According to the notification, under Sections 12(1) and 17 of the Criminal Code, 1898, commissioned officers of the army have been empowered as special executive magistrates.

They will have this power till the next 60 days after the notification is issued.

It is further stated that, in the case of organized crime under Sections 64, 65, 83, 84, 95(2), 100, 105, 107, 109, 110, 126, 127, 128, 130, 133 and 142 of the Criminal Code, 1898, the army officers have their Can exercise magisterial powers.

Earlier on September 17, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification giving special magisterial powers to army officers.
