Jumbangla Desk: RAB has arrested Jannat Ara Henry, former Member of Parliament of Sirajganj-2 Constituency and her husband Labu Talukdar from Moulvibazar.

On Monday around 3:30 p.m. from Sonapur area of ​​Moulvibazar suburb. They were arrested from Delwar Hossain Bachchu's house. They were hiding in this house after the fall of the government on August 5.

RAB said that they were arrested in connection with the attack and killing of students during the anti-discrimination student movement in Sirajganj Sadar area.

Henry's husband Labu Talukdar is the former chairman of Sirajganj Zilla Parishad.

According to a report of Jatiya Daily Desh Rupantar, about a decade and a half ago, former Member of Parliament of Sirajganj-2 Jannat Ara Henry had an annual income of 1 lakh 22 thousand and expenses of 80 thousand taka. At that time his wealth was 6 lakh 34 thousand 500 rupees. Now his wealth has increased to 56 crore 8 lakh 95 thousand 602 taka.

Jannat Ara Henry's wealth has increased 884 times in the last 15 and a half years since 2008. At the same time her husband Shamim Talukdar Labu's wealth increased 136 times.

According to the information, the market value of Henry's assets is about 300 crore rupees. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has alleged that he acquired and smuggled these assets abroad through irregularities, corruption and abuse of power.

In Sirajganj, Henry and her husband own 16 houses, 2 resorts, a cow farm and hundreds of thousands of agricultural and non-agricultural land. These include multi-storied commercial buildings on Sirajganj Station Road. This building is named after his sister.
