We take oxygen from the atmosphere to survive. But there are many other types of toxic gases such as carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), carbon monoxide (CO) etc. in the atmosphere. Do they also enter our body during breathing?
poisonous gas
In addition to oxygen, the atmosphere contains carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other gases. These gases also go into the lungs when we breathe. But there is a system to filter out the toxic gas. But compared to other gases, carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas.
It is harmful if it enters the body in excess. Because carbon monoxide mixes with red blood cells. As a result, the amount of oxygen in the blood decreases. It is harmful to health. But clean air contains very little, almost no, carbon monoxide. But this gas can spread due to some chemical reaction somewhere.
Be careful in that case. Carbon dioxide does not cause any harmful reactions in the blood. Blood carries oxygen from the lungs to the body cells and returns with carbon dioxide. With breathing, this carbon dioxide is released into the air. The proportion of carbon in the air is now increasing. This has created the risk of global warming.
