Former Home Minister Mohiuddin's bank account seized

Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has seized the bank accounts of former Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, his wife Sitara Alamgir and son Joy Alamgir for 30 days.
Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir is also the former chairman of the much discussed Farmers Bank (now Padma Bank).
In a recent letter from the financial intelligence department of the central bank, it has been instructed to suspend any accounts in the name of these three persons for 30 days as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act-2021.
At the same time, it is said in the letter, if there is any account in the name of the suspicious person and the institution related to their interests, the information from the beginning of the opening of the account has been instructed to be sent to the concerned institution.
