2 Indians with children detained at Benapole border

Jumbangla Desk: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested two Indian nationals on charges of illegal entry from Benapole Ghiba border in Jessore. They were arrested late Sunday night.

Commander of Jessore Battalion (49 BGB) Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui confirmed the matter on Monday.

Those arrested are Kusum Laxman Gawand of Maharashtra, India and her five-year-old daughter Gauri Laxman Gawand.

According to BGB, during the patrolling in Shakaripota Bazar area of ​​Ghiba border , two passengers on an easybike traveling suspiciously on the border road were questioned. When they admitted that they were Indian citizens, the BGB arrested them. They illegally crossed the border from India to Bangladesh on July 17. They have been handed over to the Benapole Port police station with a case of illegal entry.
