The Sixty Dome Mosque in Bagerhat is one of the three heritage sites in Bangladesh and a place of great historical importance. The mosque was built by a great muslim saint named Khan Jahan Ali in the middle of 15th century. The mosque is locally known as the “Sixty Dome Mosque’, however, there are 77 domes over the main hall and exactly 60 stone pillars. The prayer hall is 160”X’’190 and it can accommodate 2000 person at the time of prayer. The pond dug by Khan Jahan Ali also attracts a good number of people. The mosque represents wonderful archeological beauty which was the signature of the 15th century.
