Science and Technology Desk: Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg's wealth has crossed $200 billion for the first time. As a result, the fourth richest person in the world is now this American technology businessman. Meta manages the popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and Threads. Along with this is WhatsApp, another popular messaging app.

While social media-based services are his core business, Zuckerberg's latest success comes from the Matter Orion AR (augmented reality) smartglasses.

Currently, Mark Zuckerberg's wealth has increased to 201 billion US dollars (more than 24 lakh crores in Bangladeshi currency). And as a result, he has risen to fourth place among the 500 richest people in the world in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Only Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault are above Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg is only 40. He launched Facebook in 2004. Much of his wealth is tied to its proprietary firm Meta. In 2024, Meta's share price has increased by almost 64 percent. Meta's share price reached a record high of $568.31 last Wednesday. Last Friday, however, the share price fell as low as $1.

While speaking at the Meta Connect 2024 conference last Wednesday, Mark Zuckerberg said that the artificial intelligence that will be used the most in the world is Meta AI.

He said that about 500 million people are actively using this technology every month. Pointing to the European Union, he further said that this service has not yet been launched in many major countries of the world.
