Sports Desk: A case has been filed against Mashrafe Bin Mortuza, the former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team, on the charge of forcibly writing down the ownership of the main organization of a franchise of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

US expatriate Sarwar Golam Chowdhury filed the case at the capital's Pallabi police station on Monday (September 30).

Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Nazrul Islam confirmed the case.

He said that the case was filed on the charge of forcibly writing down the ownership of Sylhet Strikers from Sarwar Golam Chowdhury. Sarwar Golam Chowdhury, the former owner of the franchise, filed the case as the plaintiff.


It has been mentioned in the statement of the case that Helal Bin Yusuf Shubhra, sitting in Mashrafe's office, put a revolver on the head of Sylhet Strikers co-owner Sarwar Chowdhury and took away the ownership of Future Sports Bangladesh Limited, the mother company of Sylhet Strikers.

According to the statement, sitting in Mashrafe's office, Helal bin Yusuf Shubhra was holding a revolver on the head of Sarwar Chowdhury, the co-owner of Sylhet Strikers.

In addition to Mashrafe in the case, Helal bin Yusuf Shubra, Md. Names of 7 people including Imam Hasan, KM Russell, Bablu have been mentioned. Also, 10-15 people, including an official of the Registrar of Joint Stock Company, have been made accused. Mashrafe Bin Mortuza has been made the number one accused.
