Former MP Abdullah Al Jacob arrested from Gulshan

Jumbangla Desk: The former member of parliament of Bhola-4 (Charfashion-Manpura) constituency Abdullah Al Islam Jacob has been arrested by the detective police. He was arrested from Gulshan in a case of Savar police station.

This information was informed in a small message sent from the public relations branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) this morning (October 1).

Nazim Uddin, the former MP of Bhola-4 Constituency, filed a case in the court of Dhaka Judicial Magistrate SM Saiful Islam on September 12.

After recording the statement of the plaintiff, the court directed Savar Model Police Station to take the complaint as a statement.

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, then Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, former Member of Parliament of Bhola-4 Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, then IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandkar, then DIG SM Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman, then Superintendent of Police Habibur Rahman and Savar were accused in the case. Asaduzzaman, then officer-in-charge of Model Police Station.

It is alleged in the case, on December 9, 2012, the activists including Nazim Uddin Alam were standing on the Amin Bazar Bridge during the democratic peaceful stand program called by the 18-party alliance led by BNP. At that time, the police attacked the activists and batoned and opened fire. Nazim Uddin Alam and more than half a hundred leaders and activists were shot dead by tearshells and short guns fired by the police.
