Meteorologist Abdur Rahman said heavy rains are likely due to monsoon flow. Heavy rains are likely to start in Sylhet division, Comilla, Noakhali, Feni and Chittagong regions of the country from Tuesday night. The rain is moving slowly towards the west and there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places and very heavy rain in some places.

Sylhet recorded the highest rainfall in the country in the last 24 hours, 113 mm.

At that time, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Mongla, 36.2 degrees Celsius. According to Tuesday's forecast, light to moderate rain with thundershowers may occur at most places of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and at many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with temporary gusty winds. On this day, the day temperature may drop slightly and the night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country.

However, it is predicted that the temperature may decrease by 1 to 3 degrees with rain in the whole country on Wednesday.

The weather forecast given at the beginning of this month said that normal rains may occur in this month. According to Met office sources on Monday, the rain may be more than normal. Last August saw 46 percent more rain than normal.
