Former Minister of State for Power Nasrul Hamid's bank account has been suspended

Jumbangla Desk: Former Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid's Bipur Bank account has been suspended. Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sent instructions in this regard to all banks and financial institutions in the country.

The information was confirmed by the BFIU on Monday (September 30).

Bank accounts of Nasrul Hamid Bipur private and privately owned institutions will be suspended. For the next 30 days, no transactions should be made on these accounts.

BFIU's letter said that relevant provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Rules will apply to this order to suspend transactions. In the letter, their name, national identity card information is given.

Banks have been asked to send account related information or documents such as account opening form, KYC and transaction statement to BFIU of those whose accounts have been suspended.
