Protest demanding resignation of legal advisor Asif Nazrul

Jumbangla Desk: An organization called Biplapbi Chhatra Parishad has demanded the resignation of Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul in connection with the sending of daily Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman to prison for the false case of the fascist Hasina regime.

Abdul Waheed, convener of the organization, made this demand from a protest held at Dhaka University's Raju Bhaskar on Sunday afternoon. Mahian Fardin Sifat, Saeed Ahmed, Abdus Salam and others were present at the time.
The Revolutionary Student Council made 5 demands from the protest. The demands are:
1. Legal advisor Asif Nazrul has to resign for sending Daily Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman to jail.
2. Mahmudur Rahman and all oppressed journalists, writers, politicians, scholars and students should be dismissed with false cases and formal verdicts.
3. Plaintiffs, witnesses, investigating officers and judges of false cases should be arrested.
4. Dainik Amar Desh and Digant TV will be forced to shut down and the state will have to pay the cost of relaunching.
5. Journalists persecuted under the fascist regime must be compensated and rehabilitated by the state media.
