Funded by the United States Department of State, this merit-based scholarship will be awarded to students there for integrated study and intellectual development. Disabled students will also have the opportunity to participate in this program. According to the notification of the US Embassy in Dhaka, under the YES program funded by the US Department of State, scholarships are awarded to high school students in grades 8-11 of Bangladesh to stay in the United States for one year.

Applications are invited for study through the Kennedy-Luger YES program for the 2024-25 academic year. YES Scholarship is a merit based and open program. It can be applied for free. Since 2004, more than three hundred Bangladeshi high school students have participated in the YES program.

Opportunities :

The costs of the YES program, i.e. airfare, US visa fees, accommodation and meals in the US, tuition fees and a monthly stipend of $125, are covered by the US Department of the Interior. Among these, the participant does not have to bear the cost of air fare to and from Bangladesh to America, cost of predeparture orientation, cost of placement in an American host family, monthly stipend, health insurance and ancillary activities of the program. Each student will live with an American host family. The student may be required to reside in any US state, which is arranged by an American placement agency.

However, it is impossible for students to stay in the US after the program ends. This is against program rules and violating these rules will make the student a federal criminal. The student will not receive a US visa again.
