On July 30, Google launched the application bound encryption feature in Chrome 127 version for Windows users. Will Harris, a security researcher on the Chrome browser, has acknowledged a security vulnerability in the two-level verification feature. In a blog post, he said, cybercriminals have released various malware updates on dark web forums to break the encryption technology in the Chrome browser. It is possible to collect Chrome cookies with updated malware.


According to security researchers, updates to Medusa and Whitesnake malware have been released in the last two weeks to bypass the Chrome browser's two-level verification feature. Updated versions of Lumma malware were released last week and Stealcy and Vidar malware this week.
