Jumbangla Desk: Chief Advisor of the Interim Government. Muhammad Yunus said that the government will say how long the term of the government will be. The statement made by the army chief about the election is not the opinion of the government.

DR Yunus

He said these things in an interview given to the American media Voice of America. He gave the interview on the sidelines of the UN session last week. which aired Monday (September 30) on Voice of America.

Earlier, in an interview given to the news agency Reuters, Army chief Waqar-uz-Zaman said that his forces will provide all kinds of support to the government so that elections can be held in Bangladesh within 18 months.

According to the statement of the army chief, when asked whether the term of this government is 18 months or not, the chief adviser said that this is not the opinion of the government. The government has not given any opinion. The government should say how long the term of the government is. It will not be fixed until the government says so. What you will hear from us will be the date.

On giving magisterial power to the army, the chief adviser said, "We were trying to give it to the police." But the morale of the police is lost. When you go to people, you have to listen to their harsh words. Because just a few days ago they killed the students. Police are also staying away from people. So the strength of our law enforcement force was reduced. In such a situation as we said, all the police have not done wrong. We will identify those who have done wrong, they will be punished. It is a long process. Meanwhile, peace and order in the country is being disturbed. Rallies, protests are taking place, especially in our garment factories, worker dissatisfaction was seen. Then the question arose to give magisterial powers to the army. Then we requested the army. They agreed to this. They said, we exist but no one cares about us. We have no power to do anything. Then We gave them the power of magistracy for a limited period.

The question of whether the students are running the country or not. Yunus said, power should go to the youth. Old people do everything wrong. Young people will make mistakes too. They will revise it again. There was a big scandal under their leadership. I see no reason to distrust them.

In an interview on relations with India, the chief adviser said, "We have told them that we want good relations." Because India needs it, we need it too. It is not good for a nation if its relations with its neighbors are not good. It is in the interest of both our countries to develop cordial relations. Sometimes some questions come up. Where a relationship lasts forever. A baby girl died in their firing, a baby boy died. They hurt us. We don't think the Indian government did it intentionally. I want to make sure that I can eliminate all the reasons that cause these incidents.

Regarding the return of Sheikh Hasina from India. Yunus said, it is a legal matter. Surely we will want him back. Wherever he is.

What is your government's view on Bangabandhu being recognized as the father of the nation? Dr. in such a question. Yunus says, you are talking of old days. There has been a public coup in the meantime. You don't seem to remember. You have to see what's new. You have no question about how many boys gave their lives. Students said, we have pushed the reset button. The past is definitely gone. Now we will build in a new way. For this we need to reform.

Interim government shows alarming precedent by compromising WHO: TIB

The chief counsel said that the killings that are taking place after August 5 will be brought to justice. If not, the trial will not be completed. If we go back to one-sided judgment, then there is no sense of mass uprising.
