Jumbangla Desk: The policemen who have not yet joined the work after the mass uprising of the students will be considered as criminals, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

He said these things at the end of the press briefing at the Ministry meeting room at the Secretariat on Tuesday (October 01).

The Home Affairs Adviser said that the second meeting of the Law and Order Advisory Committee has started at 11 am today. Discussions were held to ensure that the upcoming Durga Puja can be conducted smoothly. Hopefully, this year's puja will be the most seamless and the best. The law and order situation of the country was also discussed. I have also talked about the trouble going on in the factories in Ashulia. I also spoke in detail about arms recovery operations and prevention of drug use. We also talked about the Myanmar border.

When asked how many policemen have not yet joined the work, the Home Affairs Adviser said it was like 187 people. After that no one else seems to have joined. Those who did not join, they should be brought under the law. We will not call them police, they will be considered as criminals.

Besides, we discussed in the meeting how to provide security at various shrines and dargahs. We talked about the garment sector in particular.

When asked about the chaos in Chittagong Hill Tracts, the advisor said, UPDF did not surrender its weapons after the peace agreement in Chittagong Hill Tracts. The Jana Sanhati Samiti (JSS) simply surrendered the tools. There is an internal conflict between UPDF and JSS. There is trouble among others who are there. Arrangements should be made on how they can live together.

Whether there has been any talk about the demand to make the puja holiday three days; When asked, he said, we have not had any discussion about this here. Even I did not say any day about taking three days off for worship. It does not fall within my purview.

The adviser also said that many times they are also getting some weapons and training from outside. A system must be made so that it does not get.
