Jumbangla Desk: Saidur Rahman, a Bangladeshi expatriate in Malaysia, is again in the list of the world's best scientists. He has been ranked first among Malaysian scientists in the field of energy research in Stanford/Elsevier's 2024 list of top 2 percent scientists in the world for outstanding research work.

Recently, Stanford University in the United States and the world's leading medical and scientific article publishing company 'Elsevier' published this list in the Netherlands. The list is prepared by analyzing scientists' publications, H-index, citations and other indicators.
It has an H-index of 136 and over 73,000 citations, according to a Google Scholar analysis.
Born in Mymensingh District, Saidur is a former student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He is currently teaching at Sunway University, Malaysia.
From 2014 to 2021, Saidur Rahman was selected as the best researcher in the world. His research has also been recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education for being among the top 1% in his research field.
Saidur Rahman is number 1 among Malaysian scientists in the list published by 'AD Scientific Index' in 2024. He is also listed as the number one researcher in Research.com and ScholarGPS research analytics.
In 2011-2014 he was honored for outstanding research contribution by Universiti Malaya, Malaysia's premier university.
Saidur Rahman received research awards from Sunway University, Malaysia in 2024 and 2019 for his outstanding contribution to research.
For his outstanding research skills, Sunway University appointed him as Distinguished Research Professor. which is a prestigious position given only among top researchers.
He is ranked number 1 in Malaysian nanomaterials research in Scopus data analysis. He is reported to be the world's number one researcher in the Web of Science nanofluid research.

Saidur Rahman built an impressive lab with state-of-the-art equipment at Sunway University at a cost of more than USD 1.5 million. The lab is used in advanced materials development and energy, heat transfer, solar energy, energy storage, clean water development.
Professor Saidur Rahman has been awarded CIP by the Government of Bangladesh in recognition of his significant contribution to the national economy by sending the highest remittance to the country through Agrani House in Malaysia in December 2022.
