The expert committee formed to make long-term forecasts of the Meteorological Department has given this forecast on Tuesday (October 1).

According to the month-long forecast, southwest monsoon (monsoon) may depart in phases at the beginning of the month. 2-4 days of moderate to severe thunderstorms in northern and central parts of the country and 3-5 days of light to moderate thunderstorms across the country. Day and night temperatures may decrease gradually. However, day and night temperatures will be slightly higher than normal.

Forecasting the floods, the agency said that major rivers may have normal flow in October. However, due to heavy rainfall, short-term flooding may occur in some parts of the northern, northeastern and southeastern hilly basins of the country.
