He said this at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (October 1) evening on contemporary issues.

The foreign adviser commented that controversial statements of Indian political leaders about Bangladesh are unacceptable. He said that Bangladesh-India wants to maintain good relations for their own interests. The two heads of government are likely to meet at the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multisectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) summit next month.

On the issue of Pakistan, he said that the interim government is keen to further develop relations with Bangladesh if Pakistan officially expresses regret over the issue of 1971. But not excluding seventy-one.

The foreign affairs adviser has spoken about the relationship before. In a press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 2, he said that there is no benefit in enmity with Pakistan, there is no benefit in making a difference in relations with India, Bangladesh is a friend of all.
