Former whip Guinea remanded for three days

Jumbangla Desk: The court has granted a three-day remand to former MP and Whip Mahbub Ara Begum Gini of Gaibandha-2 (Sadar) Constituency in the case of attempted murder of a student named Robiussani Shipu in Dhaka's Ashulia during the anti-discrimination student movement.

On Tuesday (October 1), the police produced him in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Dhaka. After that, the investigating officer of the case, SI Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan of Ashulia police station applied for a 10-day remand for questioning him. After the hearing, Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum ordered remand.
Gini was brought to court around 10 am on this day. At that time he was kept in the jail of CJM court. Mahbub Ara Begum was arrested from Dhanmondi on the night of September 30.
It is known that Robiussani Shipu was injured during the anti-discrimination student movement on the afternoon of August 4 in Bypile area of Ashulia by police and Awami League activists. He was taken to different hospitals for treatment. Later he was treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After the treatment, Shipu filed a case against 30 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
