International Desk: Iran launched a missile attack targeting Israel. The Israeli army said this in a statement. Sirens are sounding across Israel, the country's army said.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a message urged the country's citizens to be vigilant. At the same time asked to follow the instructions of the local army command.
"If you hear sirens, you must move to a protected area and remain there until further notice," the message said.
Tehran announced retaliation after an Israeli bombing in Lebanon killed Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah.
Iran fired missiles at Tel Aviv after Israeli forces launched a limited ground operation in Lebanon on Tuesday. Almost a year ago, Israel attacked Gaza in Palestine. Their indiscriminate bombing has killed more than 40,000 people in Gaza. The conflict in the Middle East has taken a new dimension with the start of Israel's ground operation in Lebanon today after the start of that war.
