International Desk: No formal education. Beshbhusha does not bear the stamp of a so-called 'civilized' society. Living is also very simple. However, they are ahead of one thing. It's in the mindset. They are called 'Bison Horn Maria'. The community is so named because of the decoration made of bison horns on its head.

etc. ethnic groups

Currently, there are many people who are fighting for the equality of men and women in the society. However, only a few can give equal rights to men and women in the real sense. But this is the norm in Bison Horn Maria society. Women of this society have been keeping pace with men for years.

Gonds are the indigenous people of Chhattisgarh, India. One of them is named Bison Horn Maria. The English once gave this name because of the use of bison horns. Now, however, many use deer or other animal horns instead of wild buffalo. But the name remains the same.

This community lives in Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh. Their belief is that sexual relations between a man and a woman must develop before marriage. Through this, the bond of marriage is further strengthened. If the man or woman is not happy with the relationship, they can walk out of the relationship at any time.

If they are happy to have sexual relations with each other, they are married. And if someone likes another woman or man even after marriage, he still has the freedom to break the marriage without hindrance. People of this population believe wholeheartedly that there is no point in maintaining a relationship if there is no love.

So both men and women have the freedom to leave one partner and choose another partner. Besides, if a woman has a child before marriage, she is also adopted very naturally by the whole family.

It does not end here. When a woman's husband dies, it is the in-laws who look for a husband for her. A grand widow's wedding was arranged. They also have a special festival. Where the upper body is uncovered, men and women dance with joy. They make fun of each other. But it never goes beyond the limit. The criteria of 'civilization' in their society is quite different.

A report on this population has recently been published in the international press based on the book of British official WV Grigson published in 1938. Grigson's 'The Maria Gonds of Bastar' has long been in the curriculum of renowned universities around the world. After checking that book, it was found that these people still follow those rules.

However, as word of this community spread, the number of tourists to see their lifestyle increased. Experts fear that increasing urbanization and influx of foreign tourists may have a different effect on the minds of these communities.
