The bank has asked for refund of 28 lakh rupees of job and salary on fake freedom fighter certificate

Jumbangla Desk: Sonali Bank Patharghata branch has demanded a refund of Tk 28 lakh of the salary of the bank employee working in the freedom fighter's pet quota. The Patharghata branch of Sonali Bank has filed a case in the court as the freedom fighter certificate submitted at the time of employment was proved to be fake. It was decided to crock the goods without payment.

Name of Muktijoddha Posya Bank employee is Sohag Samddar, father is Nityananda Samddar, home is Charduani village of Kanthaltali union taluk of Patharghata upazila.

He worked as a cash officer in Sonali Bank on his father's fake freedom fighter certificate and served for three and a half years.

Sonali Bank Patharghata Branch Manager Md. Abdul Jalil said that Sohag Samddar joined the Patharghata branch on July 5, 2015 after being selected as Officer (Cash) in Muktijodha Quota by applying according to the job circular of Sonali Bank. After scrutinizing the allegations against him, it is found that the freedom fighter certificate submitted by his father is fake. A temporary charter submitted has the signature of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs .

Certificate issued on 1st June, 2006 (Ref. M/S/Barguna/P-3/47/2002/2127, Dated 01.06.2006).

Earlier Sonali Bank PLC management authority dismissed him from his job on 11.05.2022.

Patharghata Certificate Officer and Upazila Nirbahi officer sources informed that on September 5, Sohag Samddar was given a notice to return Tk 27 lakh 84 thousand 49 if the case was filed under the Government Debt Collection Act of 1913 for collection of government money.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Certificate Officer. Roknuzzaman Khan told Kal Kantha that if necessary to recover the government debt, goods will be collected by auctioning goods or property.
