Jumbangla Desk: The entire capital is now at high risk of dengue. And considering the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and the rate of dengue fever, Mugda, Manda, Jatrabari, Dolaipar and Dania are the most vulnerable. This information has emerged in a recent survey of Zoology Department of Jahangirnagar University.
Expert and entomologist Kabirul Bashar said that the entire capital is now at high risk of dengue. So to prevent the horrors, a concerted initiative should be taken in hotspot management.
Dengue patients are being treated in rows of beds outside the general ward next to the stairs . This image of the capital Mugda Medical College Hospital tells the residents how fragile the situation is. More than 2,200 dengue patients have been treated in this hospital so far this year. Recently in Mugda, Manda, Jatrabari, Dolaipar and Daniya on the surface, the report of Time News has come up with the spread of Aedes mosquito and the number of cases of dengue fever.
In addition, it can be seen from various hospitals of the capital that the victims are being admitted to the hospital from more or less all areas of Dhaka. Dhaka's South City Corporation could not get out of the circle of horror this time. The situation here is very fragile in terms of both the number of infected and the number of deaths. Besides, the image of Dhaka North City and Chittagong Division is also bad. Patients are being admitted to the hospital from almost all areas of Dhaka.
Despite the deterioration of the situation, there is a major weakness in the management of dengue this year, the disease control department of the health department did not do it this time even though it conducts a survey of AIDS every time in the monsoon season. Even the pre-monsoon survey does not give much indication. Which is one of the challenges in disease control, IEDCR advisor Dr. Moshtaq Hossain.
However, in the last week of September, the survey of Zoology Department of Jahangirnagar University shows that the picture is quite alarming. According to the survey, Aedes mosquito density or gross index is more than 20 in almost all areas of Dhaka. Which means, the entire capital is now at risk. Even in elite areas like Uttara, Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Banani, the gross index level is more than 50. And considering the dengue density and patient rate, the worst situation is in Mugda, Manda, Jatrabari, Dolaipar, Dania areas.
