Dilip Kumar Agarwala, owner and managing director of Diamond World Limited, has been sent to jail in a murder case filed in connection with the death of teenager Hriday Ahmed in the capital's Badda area during the anti-discrimination student movement. On Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate ordered to send him to jail.


Dilip Kumar Agarwala was produced in the court after 6 days of remand in the morning. The investigating officer of the case, DB Inspector Nurul Islam Khan requested to be detained in jail until the investigation of the case is over. After the hearing, the court ordered to send him to prison.

Agarwala was remanded for 6 days in the second round on September 26. Earlier on September 3, he was arrested late at night from Aakash Tower in Gulshan. On September 4, a seven-day remand application was sent to the court in this case, but it was taken on 3-day remand. After the remand, Aggarwala was sent to jail on September 7.

After Agarwala's arrest, the police said, he is accused of gold smuggling, fraud in diamond business, tax evasion and money laundering. But because of his name in the murder case, he was arrested in this case.

According to the complaint of the case, Kishore Hriday Ahmed (16) joined the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19 at 2 pm. Hridiya was seriously injured in the firing while standing in front of Brack University in Badda. Many others were seriously injured. The injured were taken to Aftabnagar Civil Specialized Hospital. The body of Hriday was identified in the hospital in the evening. Later his body was taken to Madaripur Shibchar's village house and buried.

In this incident, a person named Shahadat Hossain, who was with Hriday during the movement, filed a case against 161 people including Sheikh Hasina on August 22. Another four to five hundred people were named as accused.
