Jumbangla Desk: Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Motaher Hossain said that many of the prisoners who escaped from different prisons of the country have returned. A large number have been arrested. There are still about five hundred prisoners on the run. Many weapons looted from prisons have been recovered. Rescue operations are continuing for those that have not been rescued. The jail currently has fewer inmates than at other times, but capacity will increase once the expansion program is completed.

 

He said these things while visiting the Jamalpur District Jail on Wednesday (October 2) afternoon in response to questions from journalists.


Syed Motaher Hossain said, if any of our contractors are unable to work, their contract will be canceled according to the rules. If necessary, new contractors will be employed. A proposal has been sent to the ministry to increase the amount of non-vegetarian food in the prisoners. If approved, it will be implemented.

Earlier, the Inspector General of Prisons was accorded a guard of honor by a well-armed team of prison guards when he arrived at the Jamalpur District Jail.
