Three day Ijtema begins at Lalmonirhat

Jumbangla Desk: Three days district ijtema is starting today Thursday after the Fajr prayer through Ambayan at the collectorate ground of Lalmonirhat city. In addition to about 50,000 Muslims in Panch Upazila, devout Muslims of Tabligh Jamaat from various districts of Rangpur Division will participate. This year's Ijtema will be delivered by 10 clerics of the capital's Kakrail Mosque. The worshipers started coming to the Ijtema ground from yesterday morning.

The Ijtema Implementation Committee said that the Lalmonirhat District Ijtema is the biggest gathering of Muslims in the northern region after the Tongir World Ijtema. District Ijtema has been held here for several years.

Adequate toilets with ablutions and showers have been arranged for the worshippers. Apart from this, multiple medical teams will work for free in healthcare.

Two hundred volunteers will work alongside the police to avoid untoward incidents .

Omar Farooq, OC of Sadar Police Station, said that all measures have been taken for the security of the Ijtema ground.

This year's Ijtema will end with the last prayer on October 5.
