Two Indian nationals were detained by the BGB at the Rajshahi border

Jumbangla Desk: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested two Indian citizens from Rajshahi border.
They were arrested from 68/2-S border pillar area under Yusufpur border outpost (BOP) of Charghat upazila of the district on Wednesday (October 2) around 5 pm.
The arrested are Ainul Haque (55) son of Abdur Rahim of Lalkup village of Sagarpara police station of Murshidabad district of West Bengal, India and Shoaib Nabi Sheikh (40) son of German Ali of the same village.
Lieutenant Colonel Motiul Islam Mondal, commander of Rajshahi-1 Battalion of BGB, confirmed this information.
He said that these two Indian citizens had crossed the Padma river and entered the interior of Bangladesh approximately 500 yards from the border pillar. When they were arrested, they admitted that they were Indian citizens. They have been handed over to Charghat police station for legal action.
Colonel Motiul Islam Mondal also said that intelligence monitoring and patrolling activities have been increased to prevent Indian infiltration through the border in Rajshahi region.
