52836 people have pre-registered to go for Hajj

Jumbangla Desk: The registration portal for Haj pilgrims in 2025 was launched on September 1. As of Wednesday (October 2), 52,836 people had pre-registered.
According to Haj management portal, 2,753 pilgrims have pre-registered through government and 50,83 pilgrims through private institutions till Wednesday. On the other hand, 609 people registered through the government; This number is 402 through private channels.
The Ministry of Religion said that the registration started from September 1 will continue till November 30. This registration process will continue through both public and private channels. No further extension will be granted after the initial registration period.
At present, if you want to go for Hajj, the first step is to pre-register by paying a fee of 30,000 taka. After that the initial registration has to be done by paying Tk 3 lakh at the specified time. And when the Hajj package is announced, the registration can be completed by paying the remaining amount.
The list of agencies that will be able to conduct Hajj activities this year will initially be available on the Hajj Management Portal (www.hajj.gov.bd).
Bangladesh could not fulfill about 35 percent of the Haj quota this year due to increased costs. This time there was a quota of 1 lakh 27 thousand 198, but the total number of pilgrims from Bangladesh was 85 thousand 257.
According to the information of the Ministry of Religion, Bangladesh has received the same number of quotas for 2025. Haj pilgrims and agencies have demanded to reduce the cost in order to fulfill the quota this time.
