Wednesday (October 2) is the birthday of one of the best rock stars of the subcontinent. He came to earth on this day in 1964. After 59 years of life, this singer entered 60 years.

Besides singing in Bangladesh, James also sang in Bollywood. Bollywood won over with 'Vigi Vigi', followed by Chal Chale, Albida won crores of fans. This song from the 2006 Bollywood movie 'Gangster' topped the Bollywood charts for more than a month. Why did James suddenly leave Bollywood? No one knew why. James finally answered that question.

Why did not settle in Bollywood? In response to this question, James said, if I wanted to sing regularly in Bollywood, I had to stay there. I don't want to leave the country, I don't want to stay. It is not possible for me. I got a lot of respect and love by being born in this country. This is the best achievement of my life.

James' music career began in Chittagong in the early eighties. Moved to Chittagong due to father's job. But when father came as Director General of Dhaka Board of Higher Secondary Education. James stayed in Chittagong. A struggling life goes on in a small room in Aziz Boarding's 'Baro by Baro'. He used to eat in a restaurant in front and in the evening went to the hotel in Agrabad.


James founded the band 'Feelings' in 1980. The first album 'Station Road' was released in 1987. In 1988, James released a single album named 'Ananya' and became a super hit. After that, the albums 'Speaking from Jail' in 1990, 'Nagar Baul' in 1996, 'Leis Fita Lace' in 1998, and 'Collection of Feelings' in 1999 were released. After breaking up 'Feelings', James formed the band 'Nagar Baul' in a new lineup. The band got caught up in both the 'Naughty Boys' and 'Beezley' albums.

In 2004, James worked with music director Pritam from Kolkata. In 2005, he played playback in Bollywood movie 'Gangster'. Then in 2006, he again sang in the Bollywood movie 'Chal Chali'. In 2007, he played playback in the movie 'Life in a Metro'. His last released song is 'Sabhi Bhool'. It was revealed on the moonlit night of Eid-ul-Fitr 2023.

In the early 2000s, James appeared in a Pepsi commercial. This was the first advertising image he worked on. The ad was aired in Bangladesh and West Bengal. He then worked on an advertisement for the energy drink Black Horse in 2011.
