Jumbangla Desk: Monsoon winds coming from the south-west direction play a major role in rainfall at this time of the year. The Meteorological Office said rains have increased slightly in the last two days due to monsoon activity. However, although there was a little more in the southern part of the country, it rained in many parts of the country till Wednesday evening. In the capital, the hot summer passed with relief rain.

However, the Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of rain in most parts of the country on Thursday and Friday. It can reduce the feeling of heat. Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Due to the possibility of heavy rainfall, the department has also maintained the landslide warning in Chittagong division.

Along with this, the Meteorological Department has asked the three seaports and Cox's Bazar to display local warning signal No. 3 due to the threat of strong winds. Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed cautiously close to the coast until further notice.

Meanwhile, a low pressure may develop over North Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas by Friday, said the Meteorological Office. Also Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal.

In this regard, the assistant meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, Kazi Jebunnecha, said on Wednesday night, 'Basically, the rain is increasing because the monsoon is active. It may increase and spread across the country tomorrow Thursday. A low pressure may also develop over the sea by Friday. If there is low pressure, the rain may increase a little later under its influence.'

Kazi Jebunnecha said, the extent and amount of rainfall may increase on Thursday compared to Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, it is raining heavily towards Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Moulvibazar towards Srimangalere. Rain has also started in Dhaka. Rain is likely to spread over most parts of the country tomorrow. However, the rain may be less in Rangpur, the northern part of the country. On the other hand, there may be relatively more rain in the southern region. The temperature in the country will decrease and the feeling of heat may also decrease.'
