Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has ordered the suspension of water traffic in the coastal areas of the country for the time being due to adverse weather conditions.

 

This information was informed through a press release on Thursday (October 3) morning.

It is said that hostile weather is prevailing in coastal areas. Three local warning signals have been issued at seaports. Along with this, due to heavy rolling in the river in the coastal region, for the safety of passengers and property, the waterway will be closed until further notice.

The waterways are Dhaka-Hatia, Dhaka-Betua, Dhaka-Khepupara, Dhaka-Charmantaj, Dhaka-Rangabali and Dhaka-Manpura.

BIWTA said that this instruction has been given considering the safety of passengers.
