International Desk: In response to Iran's missile attack, US President Joe Biden has opposed any attack by Israel on the country's nuclear facilities. He said this in response to a question from reporters on Wednesday (02 October) local time. Aljazeera news.

On Tuesday (01 October) night, Iran fired about 180 missiles at Israeli territory. Tehran claims the attack on Israeli military installations was in response to the killing of key Iranian allies, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

There were no reports of casualties in Israel. However, the Israeli government declared a state of emergency in the country. They took various security measures. In the face of Iran's missile attack, the Israeli security cabinet took refuge in an emergency bunker. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting there. At the end of the meeting, he warned Iran that a high price will be paid for a missile attack on Israel. The same is being heard from Israel's military and political circles. They say that only if Netanyahu gives instructions, there will be a counterattack.

Analysts warn that Israel could use this opportunity to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. Israeli leaders have been eyeing it for a long time.

In a post on social media X, the former Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, called for such an attack without reservation. He said Israel must act now to destroy Iran's nuclear program. We have arguments. We have the logistics.

Other US officials have also warned that Iran will face serious consequences for the attack . As State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, he is not ruling out anything.

But after speaking with allied leaders on Wednesday, Biden said he would not support an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Any Israeli response to Iran should be proportionate, he told reporters. G-7 leaders also expressed the same position as Biden.
