Own Correspondent, Gazipur: A youth named Abu Saeed (23) has been charged with strangulation in Gazipur's Sreepur. His body was recovered from a salon in Mauna Union of the upazila at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday (October 2) .

Deceased Abu Saeed is the son of Rafiqul Islam of Alampur (Fulpur) village of Durgapur upazila of Netrakona district. He used to work in a local factory from the house of Alamin Sarkar Babul in Madhyapara area of ​​Mauna Union.

The name of the accused is Khalil. He worked in a salon. He is absconding since the incident. According to local sources, victim Abu Saeed and accused Khalil were friends of each other.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sreepur police station Zainal Abedin Mondal said, Saeed used to come and go to Khalil's house due to friendly relationship. At one point, Khalil suspected that Abu Saeed had an extramarital relationship with his wife. Because of this, on Wednesday night, Khalil called Abu Saeed inside the saloon and killed him by slitting his throat. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for post-mortem. Efforts are on to arrest the accused Khalil.
