Jumbangla Desk: Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Advisor Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan said that the energy crisis will be solved if drilling and exploration of wells becomes easy.

He said this while talking to reporters in the meeting room of the ministry on Thursday (October 3).

Muhammad Fawzul Kabir said that 35 more gas wells will be dug by 2025. Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex) will mine 11 of these. The remaining 24 will be based on open tender.

The advisor said that a total of 100 wells will be dug in the plan for 2025-28. A total of 43 of these will be mined by Bapex.

He also said that the Ministry of Energy is not in favor of extending the duration of the project. If the project is not completed within the time, action will be taken against the concerned.

The advisor also said that Bangladesh is in a cautious position regarding the instability caused in the global energy market due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
