Question: Is it permissible to give Salam during the Azan?
Answer: Responding to the Azaan is an important Sunnah. Because several hadiths have been instructed to do so.
For example, in a hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, when you listen to the call to prayer! Then say what the muezzin says. Answer the call to prayer. (Bukhari 586, Muslim 384)
For this reason, in situations where it is difficult to respond to the salam, the jurists forbid salam in those situations. Namely, it is inappropriate to greet a person during urinals, ablutions, prayers, adhan, recitation of the Qur'an, important religious discussions, etc.
When entering the mosque, if you encounter someone who is not engaged in prayer or any other form of worship, you can greet him in a low voice without disturbing the worship of other worshippers. In this case, salutation is the rule. But if the worshipers are busy with their worship, then salam should be refrained from.
And it is not correct to say salam in a loud voice in the mosque that harms others.
