Fishermen said that there is a fear of crocodiles roaming in Chandarkhal area of ​​North Charvanshi in Raipur.

The crocodile was rescued by forest department personnel from the pond of Mojibul Pathan house in Char Ghasia of Char Ghasia village of Meghna river in Upazila North Charbanshi Union on Thursday afternoon.

Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Officer of Wildlife Crime Suppression Unit of Forest Department, Abdullah said on mobile phone, they can know through social media. Later, the crocodile was rescued after going to the spot with the help of the forest department.


Matiur Rahman, Range Assistant of the Upazila Forest Department, said that the crocodile will be handed over to the Wildlife Crime Prevention Unit. The crocodile was roaming in the Chandarkhal area of ​​the Meghna river for two months during the recent floods. Local fishermen claim that there are a few more crocodiles in the river.

Raipur Upazila Forest Officer Chandan Bhowmik said that the rescued crocodile was kept in the office of Assistant Forest Conservation Officer of the district. The crocodile will be sent to Dhaka at night.
