The coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement have deposited eight crore rupees of public relief collected at the TSC of Dhaka University with the help of the flood victims to the relief and welfare fund of the chief adviser of the interim government.

They handed over the check of this amount to Farooq E Azam, adviser of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the secretariat on Wednesday.

Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, confirmed the matter through a Facebook status.

He wrote, the anti-discrimination student movement has handed over a check of eight crore rupees to the chief adviser's relief fund for total rehabilitation in the flood-affected areas.

Earlier on Wednesday, the full audit report of the relief program was released. It is said that 9 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand 213 taka have been deposited in two bank accounts so far. From there, a check of eight crore rupees has been deposited in the Chief Adviser's relief fund.

Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Lutfar Rahman told reporters that the remaining 1 crore 91 lakh rupees will be spent on flood victims in North Bengal.

The anti-discrimination student movement started a public relief collection program at TSC last August for the people of 11 flood-affected districts. In the next two weeks, about 11 crore 10 lakh rupees were deposited in that fund.

But whether the money deposited in the relief fund is being properly used to help the flood victims or not, a wide discussion started on social media.
