In Gazipur's Sreepur, a narcissist killed his garment worker friend by slitting his throat in a saloon and escaped because of his extramarital affair with his wife. Police recovered the dead body from the saloon.
The murder took place at a saloon called Jest's Parlor in Mauna Madhyapara village of Mauna Union of the upazila on Wednesday around 12:15 AM.
The deceased Abu Saeed (23) is a local green textile worker. He is the son of Rafiqul Islam of Alampur village of Durgapur police station of Netrakona district. He is the tenant of the house of Mawna Madhyapara Al-Amin Sarkar Babul.
Accused Narsundar Md. Khalil Miah (26) is the son of late Abdul Majid Miah of Gotatikar Village, Mosque Colony, Sadar Upazila, Sylhet. He used to run a salon named Jest's Parlor on rent of Abu Hanif's two-storey shop in Mauna Uttarpara area. He lived on rent in a house in that area with his wife and children.
Al Amin Sarkar, the owner of the rented house of deceased Abu Saeed, told Jugantar that Narsundar Khalil Mia brought the deceased Abu Saeed to his house and let him stay on rent and Abu Saeed used to eat at Narsundar Khalil's house.
According to police sources, Narsundar Khalil Mia used to rent a two-storey shop of Abu Hanif in Mauna Uttarpara area and run a salon called Jest's Parlor.
On that basis, the friendship of garment worker Abu Saeed developed with Narsundar Khalil. Out of friendship, Abu Saeed Narsundar used to visit Khalil's house for meals and as a mess. Garment Abu Saeed had an extramarital love affair with Narsundar Khalil's wife. Narsundar Khalil escaped after learning about his extramarital affair with his wife and killed her by slitting her throat in the saloon. It is believed that he was killed because of his extramarital love affair with his wife.
Sreepur police station officer in charge. Zainal Abedin Mondal said, after receiving the information, the bloodied body of the deceased was recovered from the second floor. The killer and the victim were known and had a friendly relationship. Initial speculation is that the killings may have taken place due to an alien-related dispute. Apart from the police, other agencies are investigating the murder. Further legal action is pending.
