The Prime Minister called to inquire about the actor's health. Annamalai told the DMK leader on his verified X handle on Tuesday night that the Prime Minister had a phone conversation with Rajinikanth's wife Lata. All the information related to how the superstar is doing is communicated to Modi. He also wished for his speedy recovery. Friend Kamal Haasan also wished the actor a speedy recovery.

Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday night. As soon as the news spread, the fans of 'Thalaiva' became eager to know the truth about his health. It was initially speculated that the veteran actor was suffering from heart disease. But in a statement from the hospital on Tuesday, Rajinikanth's heart has a major blood vessel problem. However, the actor did not require any surgery for treatment. The 76-year-old actor was treated with a transcatheter procedure and a stent was implanted. In that statement, the hospital thanked Thalaiva's fans.

It may be noted that Rajinikanth was busy promoting director Nanavel Raja's film 'Vettaiya' for the past few days. He was also shooting for Lokesh Kangraj's 'Coolie'. The actor felt stomach pain on the shooting floor. But as the day progressed, the pain increased. He was admitted to the hospital by his family on Monday night. Fans are waiting for Rajinikanth to return home on Thursday.
