Iran's President Masoud Pezheksian visited Qatar amid ballistic missile attacks on Israeli territory. Qatar is playing the role of a mediator to reach a ceasefire on the Gaza issue. Besides, the country has 'good relations' with Hamas.
This time, the Iranian president arrived in Doha on a two-day visit to participate in bilateral talks and a summit with Qatar. Pezheksian wants to strengthen public opinion against Israel with the support of Middle Eastern countries during this visit, which started on Wednesday (October 2).
This is Pezeshkian's first visit to Qatar amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and regional security.
In a press conference in Doha with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Iranian President Pezeshkian said, "If Israel continues to act against Iran in one way, Iran will respond more harshly to Tel Aviv".
"Forbid Israel from destabilizing Iran," Pezeshkian said to the United States and the European Union. Because it can have dire consequences'.
"We also want peace and security," Pezeshkian said before leaving for Qatar. Israel killed Haniyeh in Tehran. Europe and the United States say that if we do not act, peace will return to Gaza within a week. We waited for their assurance. But they are increasing the killings'.
Apart from the meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Pezheksian will attend the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (AACD) summit.
