The Meteorological Office has issued three local warning signals for hostile weather in coastal areas and seaports.
On Thursday (October 3), BIWTA's Public Relations Officer Ehteshamul Parvez said in a message, due to heavy rolling in the river in the coastal area, for the safety of the passengers, Dhaka to Hatia, Dhaka to Betua, Dhaka to Khepupara, Dhaka to Charmontaz, Dhaka to Rangabali, Dhaka to Manpura coastal areas. The navigation of the waterways has been closed until further orders.
Meteorologist Md. Hafizur Rahman said that 28 millimeters of rain fell only in the capital on Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm. Low pressure may develop in the sea by tomorrow. Due to this, the trend of rainfall may increase in the next two to three days.
Due to heavy rains in Central Ashwin on Wednesday night, many roads including Jigatla, Dhanmondi, Arambagh, Green Road of the capital have accumulated water. Pedestrians said that due to continuous rain for about 3 hours, the water was delayed from many roads. It causes suffering on the road. Buses, CNG, trucks are seen standing on the highway.
According to a weather warning, deep convective clouds have formed over North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh under the influence of active monsoon. Under its influence, gale force winds may blow over the coastal areas of Bangladesh, North Bay of Bengal and sea ports.
For this reason Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show warning signal number 3. Besides, fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
According to the weather forecast, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thunder with temporary gusty winds till Thursday evening. Also, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. During this time, day and night temperatures may drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius across the country.
