After a day of closure on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti festival in India, import-export trade has resumed at Heli land port in Dinajpur from morning. Import-export operations began on Thursday morning with the entry of a cargo truck.
Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi, president of Hili landport import-export group, confirmed the matter.
He said that Gandhi Jayanti Day was celebrated in India on Wednesday. On this occasion there was a public holiday. For that reason the Bharat Healy Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association decided to stop the import-export. That is why the import-export activities between India and Bangladesh were closed on Wednesday. However, import-export activities have started again from Thursday morning.
In this regard, Badiuzzamal, officer-in-charge of Hili immigration check post, said that on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Day in India, although the import and export through Hili port was closed on Wednesday, the passage of passengers with passports of the two countries was normal. Even on Thursdays, passport passenger traffic is normal. We assist passport passengers in traveling through all types of document verification.
