Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a large quantity of foreign liquor from the banks of Jadukata river in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj.

On Wednesday, 28 BGB Sunamganj confirmed this information to Jugantar.

According to sources, a patrol team of BGB led by camp commander of Laurgarh BOP of Tahirpur on Tuesday afternoon seized 414 bottles of different brands of foreign liquor packed in multiple cartons from the west bank of Jadukata river under the 3S sub-pillar of Main Pillar 1203 of the Bangladesh-India border.

Naib Subedar Mohidur Rahman, camp commander of Laurgarh BOP of Tahirpur, Sunamganj, of 28 Border Guard Battalion told Yugantar that the value of seized foreign liquor is about Tk 6 lakh 21 thousand.

Meanwhile, although a large quantity of foreign liquor bottles were seized, the camp commander of BGB and the members of the patrol team with him could not arrest any member of the drug smuggling gang involved in this drug smuggling.
